I have determined that I am not an afternoon person.

I’ve always heard about morning people who love getting up early and night people who hit their stride an hour after morning people go to bed, and I’ve never been really sure where I fit in. I’ve always loved mornings if I can get up for them, but I’m told that a true morning person wouldn’t have so much trouble getting up every day. And while I truly love a good evening gathering of friends, if I find myself by myself in the evening, I tend to find myself in bed by ten.

All I know for sure is that I’m not an afternoon person. I could almost rearrange my schedule so that I got half of my “nighttime” sleep in the afternoon, and I think there should be a pill for that. I always try to get clients to meet me in the morning; if I have to be sluggish, I’d rather be sluggish behind my office door, guzzling tea and listening to music instead of trying to process complex thoughts.

This is what I know: afternoons are no fun.
