This year, our family opted for a staycation. But my parents and siblings and their families are still getting together at Myrtle Beach for some “real” vacation time (and for that matter, J will be spending the whole week in California with her cousins). Personally, I don’t consider Myrtle Beach with the extended family to be much of a vacation, but that doesn’t mean they felt the same way.

Because my mom watches C for the whole work week, sometimes at my office with me and sometimes at home, her vacation means I have absolutely no childcare. I expect it will take me most of the day to pound out this post, and I’ll likely hit “publish” before I’m really done.

It’s not easy trying to get stuff done while entertaining a toddler. And I am praying for good naps this week, but that will depend on how much I can wear her out each morning. That means completely eschewing any attempt to work. Sacrifice, I know.

Ok, she is now chanting “go outside and play!” so I had better do something. Like put her in front of some Elmo so I can get some real work done before the mail comes!
